Love & Technology

This is something I ripped from the movie He’s Just Not That Into You. This is the scene where Drew Barrymore’s character Mary his frustrated by technology and has a myspace account.

scene #1 (from imdb.com)

Mary: I had this guy leave me a voicemail at work, so I called him at home, and then he emailed me to my BlackBerry, and so I texted to his cell, and now you just have to go around checking all these different portals just to get rejected by seven different technologies.
Mary: It’s exhausting.

Scene #2 (from imdb.com)

Mary: He MySpaced me.
Nathan: Ouch!
Mary: Oh.
Joshua: Oh girl I don’t know about that… My trampy little sister says MySpace is the new booty cal

You’re probably wondering where I am going with this. The new technologies of today are blogs, AIM, SKYPE, Webcams, facebook, twitter, emails, texting, pix messaging, and the cell phone.I’m only theorizing here, but most of my friends get really excited when a guy texts, facebooks, ims, or even twitters them. I’m happy for them when they get a text message, but I’m more excited for them if they get a phone call. IF a guy does not want to talk to you on the phone, there is a problem. My older brother has always told me that if a guy really likes a girl, he’ll call her. He won’t text her because he’d want to hear her voice. So if a guy only talks to you on facebook, aim, webcam, emails, twitter, etc., he’s not worth your time. If he has your number and he is not calling you, forget him. Why waste your time and energy on someone who will not call you.

About Phoenix

This is a twitter/tumblr collaborative project where a 20something year old female attempts to find events and things to do in SD. Because I am a student, I will try to find things to do on a budget, for free, and/or costly.
